Chua Soi Lek Offers Political Advice To Tsu Koon

The president of MCA Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek advised his equivalent Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon that he should attend the unexpected general meeting of Penang Gerakan rather than attending the annual general meeting of MCA that is going to be held in Kuala Lumpur. While talking to the reporters he said:

“My advice to him is that, the party (Gerakan) requires his wisdom to resolve issues rather than attend our (MCA) AGM. I am not trying to be funny of try to offend people,”

Dr Chua said this on the decision on Dr Koh of not attending the Penang Gerakan EGM for the fact that he has already agreed on attending assembly of MCA taking place on the same day as Penang Gerakan EGM. Dr Koh is also the ex chief minister of Penang and his pronouncement of skipping the Penang Gerakan EGM made many party leaders unhappy, including Tun Dr Lim Keng Yaik, who is ex president and has currently resigned as Gerakan party advisor.

His unpredicted pronouncement has adversely affected Gerakan and strained Dr Koh to send a call for urgent conference at headquarters of the party to talk about the issue. The general meeting of Penang Gerakan is being organized by “Voice of the Grassroots” group, which is made up of some associates of the party. This meeting is called to move forward with the movement of no-confidence against Datuk Dr Teng Hock Nam, the existing Federal chairman.
